Serving the Community Through Outreach
All Saints is a generous congregation that supports many local and international outreach ministries.
We are especially concerned with food insecurity, poverty and refugee assistance in our community. Our most impactful outreach effort is our monthly collection of non-perishable food items and cash donations for the Westchester Food Pantry.
Volunteer Opportunities
Westchester Food Pantry
Bring in your non-perishable food donations at any time! On the last Sunday of each month, all items collected during the month are blessed and later delivered to the Westchester Food Pantry. Both La Grange Park and Western Springs are part of the Westchester Food Pantry’s service area.
Check out the pantry’s list of requested items for more information.
Volunteer at the Pantry
There are several ways we can help at the pantry. No training is necessary—simply jump in as your schedule allows!
Receiving Crew
1st and 3rd Fridays of the month, usually 10am - 12pm
Food Sorting
Wednesdays from 12:30 - 3pm and Fridays from 12 - 2pm
Client Services
Wednesdays from 4 - 7pm and Saturdays from 8:30 - 11:30 am.
Exodus World Service
Help a New Refugee Neighbor
We support Exodus World Service, which offers volunteer programs for in-person visits with refugees to help improve their English proficiency and build connections in the community.
CARS
Community-Assisted Rides for Seniors
Becoming a CARS volunteer driver is a beautiful way to serve your community while easily working around your busy life! The CARS office manages all scheduling for volunteers.
Seasonal & Ongoing Support
We support many organizations throughout the year, both through cash and physical item donations. Below are some of the drives that we hold seasonally.
We have ongoing collections for the Church Periodical Club, who funds for grants for organizations to receive books and other publications, and Restoration Ministries, who provides rehab and other services for at-risk youth and families in poverty.
Spring
A drive to collect clothing/linens & cash for Off The Street Club Camp Mathieu. Off The Street Club offers programs for inner city at-risk youth and this summer camp.
Summer
Summer has involved drives to collect household items needed to set up a new apartment for incoming refugees for Exodus World Service.
Fall
We run a winter coat drive. Coats collected have been donated to different organizations each year; and a pet supply collection for local animal shelters (done in conjunction with the boy scout troop that meets at All Saints).
Holidays
Starting around Thanksgiving we have Secret Santa collection for low-income children in Lyons Township.
Concert Donations
We also donate the free-will collections from our concerts to different organizations—the food pantry, Off the Street Club, Exodus World Service or one of the other organizations we support.
